Are you an experienced IT professional looking to take the next step in your career? Our client is seeking an IT Engineer to join their expert team, providing second-line technical support to a range of clients across the UK.
Responsibilities of the IT Engineer include:
As an IT Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality IT support, resolving technical issues both remotely and onsite. You’ll be responsible for:
- Acting as a point of contact for clients, taking ownership of incidents and resolving them within SLAs.
- Supporting desktop and server operating systems, troubleshooting network and infrastructure issues.
- Monitoring proactive alerts and resolving them within contracted SLAs.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to 1st Line Analysts.
- Representing the business professionally in both remote and face-to-face interactions.
- Ensuring compliance with ISO27001 Information Security policies.
Requirements of the IT Engineer include:
- Technical expertise in IT support, including Windows operating systems, virtualisation, cloud infrastructure, networking, and wireless systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- A friendly, client-focused approach with the ability to build strong relationships.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Essential Technical Skills
- Microsoft Servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, and Group Policy.
- Network administration – switching, routers, and firewalls (Draytek, Sonicwall, Cisco).
- Cloud technologies – Microsoft 365, Azure infrastructure, and virtual server environments.
- Backup solutions and data restoration (Veeam).
- Remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer).
Desirable Technical Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Intune, Defender.
- Microsoft 365 migration & deployment experience.
- Knowledge of Hyper-V and VMware.
- Unified Communications – Microsoft Teams administration.
