They are looking to drive innovation through their website by continuously improving its features and adding new, cutting-edge tools that make customers’ lives easier. They are looking to bring a Senior Developer on board who can help them be responsive to our customers’ needs and always ready to innovate.
As well as primarily looking after the website, they are looking for an exceptional problem solver who will bring their technical knowledge to help solve problems in all areas of the business. This may be customer facing tools and features that solve problems or internal tools that help streamline processes.
Responsibilities of the Senior Developer will include:
- Help plan and prioritise the road map of new features and changes.
- Continue the improvement of the backend including moving from legacy code to a new tech stack.
- Completely overhaul the front end of the website, moving to new technologies and improving user experience
- Work across the full development lifecycle from design and development through to testing, deployment, and operation
- Initially focus on backend PHP but you'll also be using JavaScript and React/Vue on the front end.
Requirements of the Senior Developer include:
- Proficient in core frontend web technologies – HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Knowledge/understanding of React, Vue or Angular
- PHP experience, including object-oriented and functional concepts
- An understanding of databases and SQL
- Excellent source control habits and an understanding of Git
- Awareness of basic security principles and testing procedures
- Comfortable on the command line
- Knowledge of server management
- Experience with e-commerce and integration with third-party APIs
Our client is looking for someone to initially work hybrid (1-2 days in the office), with the opportunity to move to remote (if required) once you have developed an understanding of the business and its needs.
