Service Desk Technician, Devon
Up to £30k DOE
- 4 days a week in office, 1 day remote
- Previous experience in an IT support role or similar required
We are proud to be partnering exclusively with this exciting business to find their next Service Delivery Technician. This role is perfect for anyone with 1st or 2nd line experience, looking to progress their skills.
The purpose of this role is to provide first and second line IT support to internal staff for all technologies, associated software and peripheral devices as well as day-to-day administration of systems and communications devices.
Responsibilities of the Service Desk Technician Role:
- Provide 1st, 2nd, and occasional 3rd line IT support across hardware, software, and peripheral devices, both remotely and on-site.
- Build, configure, and deploy Windows, Apple, and mobile devices using modern device management tools (e.g., Intune, JAMF, Autopilot).
- Monitor and maintain server and network infrastructure, escalating potential issues where necessary to maintain system performance and security.
- Administer core systems including Active Directory, ensuring users, permissions, and devices are effectively managed.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of IT systems, processes, and documentation, including identifying areas for enhancement.
- Support onboarding and offboarding of users, ensuring timely provision and recovery of IT equipment.
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support short-term IT projects.
Requirements of the Service Desk Technician Role:
- Previous experience in a similar IT support role
- Excellent understanding of MS Windows client operating systems, 365 applications & Active Directory
- Good understanding of cloud technologies (Azure, InTune etc)
- Excellent understanding of the operation of desktop/laptop hardware and software.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, AD/DNS/DHCP.
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to organise workload and prioritise competing demands.
