Software Engineer – Visualfiles
Exeter | Permanent | Full-time
We’re working exclusively with a highly regarded professional services business in Exeter that is looking for a Software Engineer to join its IT team.
This is a hands-on development role where you’ll take ownership of the organisation’s LexisNexis Visualfiles platform, developing enhancements, maintaining integrations and helping shape how the system evolves to support the wider business.
You’ll also work across internally developed applications, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, databases and web services, giving you plenty of variety and the opportunity to contribute to wider technology and digital projects.
What you’ll be doing
- Developing and enhancing the Visualfiles platform
- Building and maintaining system integrations
- Developing and supporting internally built applications
- Working across Microsoft 365 and Power Platform solutions
- Supporting application databases, web services and scripts
- Translating business requirements into effective technical solutions
- Working closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement
- Contributing to wider application and technology projects
You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of your work from initial requirement through to delivery and see the impact of the solutions you develop across the business.
What we’re looking for
Hands-on LexisNexis Visualfiles experience is essential.
You may currently be a Visualfiles Developer, Case Management Developer, Legal Systems Developer,
Applications Developer or Software Engineer.
Experience across some of the following would also be beneficial:
- Visualfiles Business Language (VBL)
- Case management or legal systems
- SQL and databases
- APIs and system integrations
- Microsoft 365
- Microsoft Power Platform
- Web services
- Scripting and automation
Alongside your technical experience, you’ll be a logical problem-solver who enjoys understanding business requirements and turning them into practical solutions. You’ll be comfortable working with stakeholders, taking ownership of your work and managing priorities within a collaborative IT environment.
